Grieving During The Holidays

For many, the holiday season comes with a dose of sadness and longing for family members and loved ones gone before. The joy and brightness displayed everywhere we go can sometimes serve to deepen our melancholy.

During these trying times, remember that “toughing it out” or “putting on a brave face” isn’t usually enough to truly heal our hearts. However, healing can take place as we try to live our lives in a manner that honors those we have lost, as we come together with others who are currently grieving and who have healed from their loss, and as we seek out help when we feel we cannot manage our feeling on our own.

There are many resources available to help you process and come to terms with your loss. Please visit our Grief and Healing Resources Page to find the support and guidance that’s right for you.

If a loss in your family is recent or imminent, studies have shown that a memorial service or funeral service is one of the most effective ways to cope with a loss and to gain closure. If you need help understanding the cost of funeral services or cremation services, the process for cremation or for burial, or would like to pre-plan for a funeral or cremation, Martin Oaks is open 24/7 and we are committed to making sure you are never alone during this difficult time. Call us anytime at (469) 605-7215.
